Do you feel forced to make patient care decisions which violate your personal ethics? Are you being pushed to sell products and services you don't whole-heartedly believe in? Are you criticised or threatened if you do not conform to rigid "good medicine" protocols designed to maximize the use of laboratory and radiology equipment?
At Betsie River Veterinary Clinic we believe there is a middle path between exclusive practices and high-volume-low-quality practices.
Located 30 miles south of Traverse City, Michigan, we are a semi-rural small-animal practice with close to 5,000 clients. Our area attracts people who enjoy the outdoors. From water sports to hiking, fishing, hunting and skiing, Benzie County has it all. Our proximity to Traverse City also means easy accessibility to the Traverse City Film Festival, the Cherry Festival, Interlochen Center for the Arts, multiple wineries, a large A-rated horse show, many restaurants and shops, casinos, and more.
I started this practice "from scratch" in 2009, and we have steadily grown without any overt marketing to the busy (and still growing) practice we are today. The practice software we use is Cornerstone, the radiology system we have is Cuattro HD DR, the digital dental system is Schick, the dental x-ray machine is Corix, the dental machine is by Dentalaire, the in-house lab is by Heska (and Abaxis), and the therapeutic laser is by K-laser. We have one and one-half veterinarians, one licensed technician, one office manager, three assistants, three receptionists, and a couple of part-time helpers. The clinic is about 3,500 square feet and has four exam rooms.
We want a competent general practitioner with some experience, who has empathy for clients, pets, and co-workers. If extra tools are needed to utilize your special interests, we will be happy to invest in them. Salary will be competitive and based on experience and schedule. We have 60/40% healthcare "silver" plan and group dental plan.
