Iowa State University's Lloyd Veterinary Hospital has an immediate need for a confident, caring, and results-driven Veterinary Operations Manager to join our team. The Veterinary Operations Manager plays a vital role in the hospital by handling the day-to-day operations of the hospital in order for the staff to provide the best level of veterinary care and education to our customers and students.
As a Veterinary Operations Manager: -You will mentor, develop and lead a mix of hourly and professional support team members and provide the foundation for our specialty veterinary services to excel in their roles in patient care and teaching. -Support the Director of Hospital in all operational aspects of our Veterinary Teaching Hospital. -You will serve as a liaison with Facilities, Public Safety, and other areas of the college or hospital as needed.
The ideal candidate would possess the following skills and attributes: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Superb organizational skills & able to multitask and prioritize duties • The ability to make decisions, delegate responsibility and achieve results • Ability to calmly and effectively handle stressful situations • Understanding of veterinary terminology, equipment, and treatment protocols • Knowledge of Veterinary Medical Board, OSHA, and DEA regulations
This position will be hired as a Program Coordinator II or Program Coordinator III.
Required Minimum Quals:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a Master's degree; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 6 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
