Lewis and Clark Veterinary Clinic, a progressive and modern companion and exotic animal practice, is seeking an enthusiastic and team oriented associate veterinarian.
The ideal candidate is personable, compassionate, confident, hardworking, and skilled in companion animal medicine. Interest in exotic animals is helpful but not required. In addition, there is need for equine and small ruminant medicine in the area if the ideal candidate is interested. Individuals interested in part time are welcome to apply.
Our companion animal facility consists of 2 examination rooms as well as a comfort room for euthanasia procedures and acupuncture and chiropractic cases. We have a radiology suite equipped with digital x-ray and a Canon Xario 100 ultrasound. Our treatment area has two wet prep tables (one is equipped with dental x-ray) and Abaxis laboratory equipment (HM5 CBC machine, VS2 rotor chemistry, VS Pro PT/PTT, Vet Scan UA). We have Class I and Class IV therapeutic laser. Our surgical facility includes a Bovie Specialist Pro Electrosurgical Unit as well as a Companion Regenerative Centrifuge for PRP injections, etc. We have two gas anesthetic machines (one equipped with a Life Window One monitor and one equipped with a Cardell Midmark monitor) We have digital medical records (Avimark).
Our practice is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We provide wellness and emergency care during hours as well as after hours services nights and weekends for established clients. We do have a 24 hour referral hospital a little over an hour away if the need arises. Salary is $78,000 to $100,000. Benefits include but are not limited to: health insurance, retirement plan, paid personal leave, continuing education stipend and professional membership dues.
We are located in the beautiful Lewis and Clark Recreation Area in southeast South Dakota. The area provides excellent outdoor activities including camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, water sports, and a new water park. We are conveniently located away from the hustle and bustle of Sioux Falls while still being close enough to enjoy the variety of entertainment, food, etc.. that a larger city provides.
