We are looking for an energetic and personable veterinarian who strives to practice high quality small animal and exotic medicine at a busy 40 year AAHA accredited hospital. In business since 1973, we offer around the clock patient care, with traditional day business hours and transition to emergency hours (staffed by dedicated emergency technicians and veterinarians) at 5pm. Our hospital has state of the art diagnostics and surgical equipment, performing many advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, advanced dentistry, and advanced diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.
Some of our “toys” include Cornerstone paperless records, Philips ultrasound machine, Sedecal x-ray machine (D/R), Companion Therapy Laser, mobile ultrasonic dental unit with high speed hand-piece, digital dental x-ray, ECG, complete IDEXX in house laboratory including Abaxis coag machine, Idexx Progesterone testing, Idexx Procyte Dx and Catalyst, Sedivue UA machine; Cardell and Vetspecs anesthetic monitoring, 10+ IV fluid pumps, Ellman electrocautery unit and a Airnetics Oxygen Generator, for unlimited oxygen for our patients.
We are also a drop-off point and provide emergent care to wild animals for St. Francis Wildlife, a local wildlife rehabilitation group. We are home to CARE (Companion Animal Rescue Endeavor), a 501c(3) IRS Nonprofit set up to provide medical and surgical care to relinquished, stray or orphaned companion animals that our doctors feel can be rehabilitated and rehomed. This program also allows our doctors the opportunity to practice the procedures necessary for their treatment and rehab prior to adoption.
Tallahassee is the capital of Florida and is home to the Florida State Seminoles and FAMU Rattlers. We are 45 minutes from the Gulf coast with a climate and geographic location ideally suited for a variety of outdoor activities including beach trips, hiking, kayaking, fishing, mountain biking and running. Being a college town, there is an active nightlife and our local arts, sports, and theater scene is great as well.
Salary is commensurate with experience and shifts worked ($85,000-125,000 base), plus ProSal at 22% of produced revenue.
