The Animal Hospital of Smithson Valley is in a new facility that offers the best-in-class resources to service most any need a pet may have. Our facility offers internal lab diagnostics via Idexx Catalyst equipment, laparoscopy for minimally invasive abdominal surgeries, minor orthopedics, full digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, and echocardiography technology too.

Are you a New - Grad? We have Mentorship. Receive help along the way from our senior veterinarians to hone your skills as both a clinician and surgeon. We’re here to help you along your path in learning advanced surgical techniques including laparoscopy and orthopedic procedures like extracapsular ACL repair and TPLO!

We believe in work-life balance, which is why we prioritize not only working diligently, but also allowing for plenty of personal time and our veterinarians schedule is a four-day work week with only a 4 Saturday per year commitment. We strive to create an environment where our veterinarians can apply their extraordinary passion, skills, and education to make a difference for pets and their humans.

• Follow the established policies and procedures that govern the normal operation of the hospital.
• Dedication to efficiently handling caseloads and maintaining accurate records using SOAP templates for treatment plans and recommendations.
• Promote a collaborative working environment and encourage the value of teamwork.
• Prioritize traumatic injuries and serious illnesses to ensure that all animals receive time-sensitive care.
• Educate clients on the importance of vaccinations, heartworm treatments, flea and tick treatments and other aspects of preventive care.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
• State Veterinary Board License in good standing.
