Vista Veterinary Specialists located in Sacramento, California, is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join our hospital. We are moving into a brand-new facility and location in 2025, come help us grow and support our community!
Position Details:
Compensation: based on experience, schedule, # of shifts, and qualifications, annual compensation starts around $180,000 and can increase further with experience or through production incentives
Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available
The schedule will include a combination of days, nights, and some weekends. We make efforts to provide a schedule that promotes work-life balance which includes no more than 3 days in a row, no more than 4 overnights in a month (or 2 in a row) and every other weekend off! We work hard to be accommodating and supportive of our doctors.
Days: 10-hour shifts available from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Swings: 10- hour shifts from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Overnights: 14-hour shifts starting at 6:00 PM and ending at 8:00 AM the following day, which includes dedicated time to in-patient care, rounding, and updating medical records before receiving cases.
About You:
Internship trained or experienced ER veterinarian
Ability to cut surgery if desired, but is not required
Someone who wants to practice high quality medicine in a welcoming and supportive environment
Our Hospital & Team:
Vista is a 24/7/365 Emergency and Specialty hospital providing care in internal medicine, surgery, radiology, cardiology and critical care. Within our current 11,000 square foot facility, there are 3 surgical suites, 8 exam rooms, 2 isolation wards, on-site Vimago CT/fluoroscopy, ultrasonography, digital radiography, and full in-house laboratory. Our current staff includes 9 ER doctors, 2 Criticalists and 2 Internists. We are additionally supported by contracted Surgery, Cardiology and Radiology groups. As we move into a new facility in 2025, we will increase our footprint to 18,000 square feet with 14 exam rooms, 5 surgical suites, a dedicated ICU with a step-down intermediate care ward and more exciting additions!
