Heart Of Gold Veterinary Care is seeking a Mixed Animal Veterinarian (limited to equine, canine, and feline) to join our team Full-Time.  We offer general medical care and surgical care to small animal patients and general, sick and emergency care to equine patients.  Heart Of Gold is a PRIVATELY OWNED practice and will never become corporately owned. We are a growing practice with a BRAND NEW FACILITY.  Come Grow with us!

We currently have 1 full time veterinarian and 2 part time veterinarians with amazing supporting staff that includes three licensed technicians and four veterinary assistants!  We are open Monday through Friday 8am-5pm and offer equine emergency coverage and small animal emergency assistance outside our normal business hours.  Small animal assistance consists of phone consultation and emergency euthanasia when needed. On call coverage for this position includes one night per week, one weekend every three weeks, and two holidays on call each year.  We are looking to maintain our family atmosphere and work as a team to support each other day in and day out.  

Our services: 
-Small Animal: wellness, surgery, senior pet care, dentistry, urgent care, and on-call phone assistance
-Equine Services: wellness, field surgery, senior care, dentistry, urgent care (to include colics, lacerations, dystocia and more) and on-call coverage.   *****We do not offer equine reproductive services at this time. We are open to adding limited avian and exotic coverage if the applicant is interested and proficient in these species.

Geneva, New York, is a great location!  We are in the middle of two large cities, Syracuse and Rochester, but far enough out in the country that city life doesn’t interfere with nature.  Surrounded by three of the Finger Lakes, there are tons of opportunities to spend time in the water or on a boat. Hiking, trail riding, and cycling are also some activities that are popular in our area. 

Essential Job Duties:
- Proficient in small animal (dog and cat) general medicine: 
o Annual examinations and vaccinations
o Sick appointments: work-up may include bloodwork and xrays
o Surgical skills: dog/cat spay and neuter, dental extraction, mass removals, gastropexy, and more if experienced.

- Proficient in equine general and emergency medicine:  
o Annual examinations and vaccinations
o Sick appointments
o Lameness workup
o Surgical skills: castration, laceration repair, and other surgical skills preferred
o Emergency care - may include colic, laceration, and more

On-call expectations:
- One night per week
- One weekend every 3 weeks
- Two holidays per year
