MACS is a non-profit that works towards helping all members of our community to provide lifesaving care to their animals. Our Veterinary Clinic is a low-cost clinic, in the city of Detroit, that works with a variety of clients and patients. Most of our clients have limited access to veterinary care. We also provide all of the veterinary care for our shelter-located next door. We are looking for a Veterinarian to work a one to four days during the week to see wellness and sick appointments.
Our clinic hours are Tuesday-Friday 8 am to 4 pm. No weekends, no afterhours, no on call, or holidays! If you would like more info on how to be part of our life saving team, we would love to further discuss how we could work together.
Qualifications:
Experience in veterinary medicine, including performing surgeries and examinations
Knowledge of preventative care and treatment of common animal illnesses
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client education and collaboration within the team
Ability to work efficiently and compassionately in a fast-paced environment
Experience with shelter medicine or working with animal rescue organizations is a plus

JOB REQUIREMENTS
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
Michigan Veterinary License
Michigan Veterinary Controlled Substance License
DEA License and Accreditation in the State of Michigan
Since 1935, the Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society (MACS) has been a non-profit that works towards helping all members of our community provide care to their animals. MACS provides extensive sheltering, veterinary care and pet adoption services to the community. We work to help those that need to surrender their pets, or those that would like to keep them, but have financial constraints. Our Veterinary Clinic provides preventative care, spay/neuter procedures, Radiographs and bloodwork. We work to try to help as many members of the community as we can and to provide them resources.
